A low-key midweek jumps card in the pre-Christmas lull is rarely an exciting prospect, and today’s bubble and squeak of Catterick and Fakenham promised little for our daily yankee. And so it began when our opening leg was stuffed like the turkey.
But then some festive magic started. Reve (4/1 early, 10/3 SP) started the bauble rolling when making first mover advantage tell and holding off hot favourite Bhutan much as we had called.
Olympic Honour (7/2) added some glitter when bravely holding off fellow juvenile Highway To Success in a match up we again predicted at Fakenham.
Then it was down to nap Reverand Cust (3/1) to complete the ho-ho-ho back at Catterick, which he duly delivered with a nerve-jangling late charge.
Despite the early setback, 3 from 4 delivered around 15 times total staked for the yankee, the third big return of the month, further filling the coffers in advance of the big Kempton – Leopardstown festivals.
Stay tuned…
Hearty congratulations! Well done.
