Tuesday Yankee: Put faith in the Reverant…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:   Reverant Cust, (1455 Catterick), 1pt win, 5/2:

The two leading lights here dominate the market.  Maxed Out King is a warm favourite but his win at Sedgefield last time was his third there (of four career wins) and he disappointed in his only run here.  Reverant Cust hasn’t shown the best of recent form, but he’ll enjoy drying ground and has course form over jumps of 211.  He looks the bet.

Condarcia,  (1225 Catterick), 4/1:   Nicely bred but disappointing in Ireland for Jessica Harrington and has joined Nicky Richard’s in form stable.  Her first run for them was unremarkable but her runner up effort to a potentially well-in Pipe handicap blot at Sedgefield last time suggested she is ready to win.  Better ground here should help and her jockey is good value for his claim.

Reve, (1355 Catterick), 4/1: was a winner when making all the running here in Feb.  Was swimming in deep waters at Cheltenham afterwards and has had two soft ground runs and a wind op this season.  Wind op horses usually enjoy a sounder surface and he gets that here.  Could make all at the expense of in form hot favourite Bhutan who has it to prove over this distance.

Olympic Honour, (1410 Fakenham), 3/1:  a number of handicaps have been falling to juveniles recently courtesy of their huge weight for age benefits.  Highway To Success has a massive chance, but fellow juvenile Olympic Honour looks very well treated on handicap debut off 112. Trainer’s daughter Isabel claims a useful 7lbs.
