The quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup continue tonight, with the televised game being Manchester City’s trip to Oxford.
City face an extremely difficult task in defending their league title and now face Real Madrid in Champions League. They will be very keen to get some silverware this season and they have been exceptional in the past at targeting this trophy.
They may well rest some players, but whoever starts will represent a strong side. In addition, there have been signs of late of this side regaining some form. They were impressive since the derby defeat, dismissing both Dinamo Zagreb and Arsenal in style.
The two teams met each other in this competition last season, with City winning 3-0. We think it’s likely that they will produce a similar performance tonight, winning going away.
We also think this game will offer another opportunity to enhance Phil Foden’s footballing education. He scored against Zagreb last week and we’ll take a chance he does so again tonight.
Recommendation: Foden to score anytime, 1 pt, at 100/30, Paddy Power
