Some decent midweek racing today, but we can’t complain after yesterday’s basement level cards gave us a welcome 14/1 boost. More of the same please…
The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Roll Again, (1435 Ludlow), 1pt win, 3/1:
Bobo Mac returns to the scene of his easy win and could go well but his new mark has historically been near his ceiling. Roll Again however has substantial promise as a well bred Willie Mullins reject now in the hands of the flying Venetia Williams. He blundered away his chance on chasing debut for her but showed enough to suggest he’ll be very well in with a cleaner round.
Notachance, (1320 Newbury), 3/1: was a promising novice hurdler last year winning at this track. Made a further big step forward with a gutsy chasing win at Exeter and can build on that here. Fontsanta is the seasonally appropriate main danger but Notachance looks the more battle ready at this stage.
Hatcher, (1405 Ludlow), 11/4: went off very fast in a top Ascot race on return. That race is form gold, but he has to reverse placings with Caid Du Lin despite being higher in the weights. That’s because Hatcher has since trotted up in a race here. He relaxed better that day, and he could get an nice uncontested lead today, in which case he could be very hard to catch.
Dreaming Of Glory, (1530 Newbury), 4/1: a very interesting fillies bumper where Warwick runner up Coquelicot looks far too short against a batch of likely newcomers. Maridadi and Midnight Ginger come from stables who do well in these events, but in form trainer Fergal O’Brien is expert at getting fillies and mares winning chances and the well bred Dreaming Of Glory looks one to back here.
