Thursday Yankee: Vin at all costs..

A very easy win for yesterday’s Nap, Roll Again (3/1) who was a joy to watch, he can win more races. Unfortunately, the rest of the yankee let us down although an unseated rider in a bumper amounts to almost comical bad luck.

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:   Vinnie Dev, (1420 Exeter), 1pt win, 5/1:

Warm favourite here Dostal Phil, has the beating of The Crooner on form here in the Spring although The Crooner proves he was in song with a win last week.  Both may have to give way to winning pointer Vinnie Dev.  He stayed on dourly to win his maiden at Uttoxeter before competing until late on at Ascot in a race that could hardly be working out better.  This will be a real test and he looks set to relish it.

Divine Gift,  (1530 Southwell), 2/1:  had a broadly disappointing turf season, but this trip on this slow surface matches well with his breeding.  It’s been 6 months since he last ran, for former trainer Fellows, but it’s worth a flutter that he may improve for the switch in yard and surface.

Inspireus, (1450 Exeter), 11/2:  Some interesting runners here but it’s Seamus Mullins’ new convert to chasing who catches the eye.  Went down by less than 4l when 4th on chasing debut last time at Lingfield doing all his best work at the finish.  Page Fuller’s 3lb claim continues to be gold dust.

Johnbb, (1520 Exeter), 6/4:  looks a match between Eceparti and Johnbb.  Eceparti represents a sublime Venetia Williams, but has been put up 11lbs for winning some average races.  Johnbb was very impressive at Sandown in a decent race and a 6lb raise looks unlikely to be enough to stop him running up a sequence.
