The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Ripstick, (1335 Ayr), 1pt win, 5/2:
He’s been around for a while but has hit the form of his life of late. His win last time at Sedgefield over Christmas was pretty impressive and the 5lb weight rise looks very generous. This is not a great race, he handles the ground well and he should be hard to beat.
On The Quiet, (1250 Chepstow), 5/2: has been consistent in bumpers and novice hurdles for her in form yard. Ran really well when pipped late in her debut handicap at Ffos Las and jockey Isabel Williams gets to claim her useful 7lbs here.
Calix Delafayette, (1515 Ayr), 5/2: rarely seen hurdler who has been beset by training problems but has run well in his few visits to the track including two wins on this heavy ground. Used to running after a long break and his handicap mark of 120 looks potentially an underestimate.
Mick Manhattan, (1600 Chepstow), 8/1: ran really well here two runs ago when a close third on soft ground. Didn’t cope with the faster surface and sharper track at Wincanton last time but that should be ignored. Back here and with a confident Sam Twiston-Davies aboard, he looks to have much stronger claims than the market might suggest.
