Carabao Cup: Taylor faces yellow worry…

The second semifinal in the Carabao Cup, and we can look forward to another derby, this time in the Midlands after last night’s Manchester version.

Aston Villa travel to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester. The hosts are strong favourites for this tie, they lie second in the league and have been excellent this season. Villa, by contrast, lie just above the relegation zone and owe their place in this semifinal to Liverpool having to play a reverse side in the previous round.

We like Leicester for this game, but they are priced to win. Striker Jamie Vardy is likely to return after a few games off with a minor injury (as well as celebrating the birth of his latest child). We think he will be rested and dangerous, but 3/1 best priced to score a brace doesn’t seem good value.

Instead we’re going to bank on this game being near neighbours being feisty. Neil Taylor has been playing full back for Villa given Matt Targett’s injury. The veteran has been booked three times in just 12 games this season, and now faces quick and tricky Leicester forwards. A price of 5/1 for a booking seems a good price.

Recommendations:

Taylor to be booked, 1 pt, at 5/1, Unibet
