PGA Golf: Stick with JT…

The PGA Tour stays in Hawaii this week, with the Sony Open taking place at the Wai’alae Country Club near Honolulu.

We had a coin toss for our selection to win the Sentry Tournament of Champions last week, and we went with Jon Rahm instead of the eventual winner Justin Thomas.

We’re not going to make the same mistake this week. JT is playing well, he has a fantastic record in this, and he’s full of confidence. He’s a short price, but still worth a two point bet.

Of the golfers we outlined at the start of the year that would form the basis of our betting this season, Collin Morikawa, Joaquin Niemann, Cameron Smith and Sunjgae Im are also playing.

We managed to collect some each way cash on Niemann last week, but we prefer Im now. We steered clear of Thomas because we thought he might be tired after starring in the Presidents Cup and Rahm might be fresher. Im also excelled in Australia and he’s has an extra week’s rest. We think he’s heading to the top ten in the world rankings and will side with him this week.

Recommendations:

Thomas to win, 2 pts, at 5/1, widely available

Im 0.5 pts each way at 25/1, 1/5 the odds for the first six places, Unibet
