NAP OF THE DAY: Geordielandgangsta, (1335 Catterick), 1pt win, 3/1:
Bred to be a real stayer and steps up to 3m here on chasing debut. This is a pretty easy course for inexperienced chasers and he comes here off the back of a career best effort over hurdles at Newcastle. He stayed on well there for a close third in a race where the 1st, 4th and 6th have all won since. Runs off the same mark here and has a winning chance jumping permitting.
Keep The River, (1300 Catterick), 3/1: hasn’t shown very much until a more promising third last time at Newcastle. Mares are capable of bursts of good form and sudden improvement. Trainer Iain Jardine is in decent form and money for his horses is usually a significant sign. This mare has been well backed and that could suggest the stable feel she is coming to the boil.
Lightly Squeeze, (1450 Leicester), 10/11: a confident nap of ours when second on seasonal debut to a massively well handicapped rival. Has duly rattled up a hat trick since Christmas. This will be his hardest race yet and off his highest rating, but he has toyed with his opponents and surely has another 10lbs at least in hand before the weight bites.
Perfect City, (1510 Catterick), 10/3: rated a lofty 87 on the flat based on his French performances. Has clearly been campaigned over hurdles to get an attractive mark, and consequently debuts off just 105. Better ground and a sharp track are likely to play to his flat speed against some true jumps bred rivals.
