Friday Yankee: Thur sure suits Shan fans…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:   Shanroe Al C, (1315 Thurles), 1pt win, 2/1:

Has shot up the weights after a winning streak, but a tidy second at Navan and a decent 4th in a competitive race at Leopardstown’s big Christmas meeting both suggest there is another win in this elevated rating.  The drop in class here offers a fine chance to prove that.

Miss Elsa, (1645 Lingfield), 4/1:  has been in and out mixing wins with poor results.  That’s mostly as her running style of last to first is very much hostage to fortune.  Well beaten last time but looked as though she could have done a whole lot better with a bit more luck.  Worth chancing that she gets the breaks in this slightly smaller field.

Mythologic, (1830 Dundalk), 11/2:  so tonight’s Dundalk meeting sees the training debut of the latest O’Brien maestro, Donnacha.  When brother Joseph made his training debut he had 4 winners in a day, and whilst it doesn’t look as if Donnacha has been blessed with quite the same firepower, if he lands this event with this experienced runner we can be sure his next runner will be massively punted, and there has to be some chance of that as a mark of 77 sets a fair standard.

Flower Garland, (1930 Dundalk), 11/4:  probably the more like of  Donnacha’s debut double, and sure to be half this price if Mythologic goes in earlier I’m the evening. Ran a fine race on nursery debut last time and is sure to be cherry ripe for this.
