The late game Sunday sees Manchester City travel to Aston Villa seeking three points to cut into Liverpool’s healthy lead at the top of the table.
City have started to show signs of late of coming back into form. They dismissed their cross-city rivals United pretty easily midweek in the Carabao Cup, and now face a side they beat 3-0 earlier in the season.
City have beaten Villa on nine of the past 11 league meetings, keeping a clean sheet in eight of the last ten. As well as Villa played last time out in beating Burnley, this is a different cup of tea. We think City will win, and win well.
Sergio Aguero is one goal away from equalling Thierry Henry’s record as the highest foreign goalscorer in the Premier League. He also has an outstanding record against Villa – scoring six goals in his last four starts.
We will take the Argentinian maestro to score today, and will take the 3/1 on offer that he scores first.
Recommendations: Aguero to score first, 1 pt, at 3/1, William Hill
