It was only on Wednesday that blog followers landed a 50/1 return with 3 from 4 in our daily yankee.
Roll forward 48 hours and we were having a happy case of deja vu as another 3 from 4 landed a 20/1 return on today’s Yankee, albeit tinged with frustration.
Alminar (4/1) got the ball rolling early for us when forging clear at muddy Chepstow.
Then it was nap of the day, Highway Companion (6/1) under Brian Hughes who sauntered clear as we had hoped, belying an alarming but lucrative price drift.
The Mouse Doctor (5/2 early, 6/4 SP) who was backed as if defeat was out of the question – which it was, as he eased to victory.
The chance of a massive grand slam then emerged with the weight of expectation on last leg Just A Thought. Unfortunately she jumped like she had lead boots on, and her third could have been so much better with a slicker round.
No monster jackpot then, but a 20/1 return still works very nicely in what is rapidly becoming a few weeks to remember.
Stay tuned…
