The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Ken’s Sam’s, (1915 Newcastle), 1pt win, 2/1:
Irish raider who has a close second here in the back catalogue off a higher mark. She looked in good nick at Dundalk recently, being pretty unlucky not to get closer last time. This looks very winnable.
Northernpowerhouse, (1815 Newcastle), 9/4: in flying form lately but there shouldn’t be much between him and Asdaa and Fourtamor on their recent clash. That said it was a win for Northern, and often winners can confirm form even given some weight turnarounds. Fourtamor is probably the danger but it should be another win for the powerhouse.
Oriental Lily, (1715 Newcastle), 4/1: narrowly weighted to beat warm favourite Hassad on running last time. She isn’t the easiest ride, but this race looks likely to be run to suit and she could register another course win.
Tarnhelm, (1845 Newcastle), 10/1: often a slow starter but a specialist at this trip. Has yo-yoed to 6f and 8f lately, and has been a bit below par, but he is weighted to go close if back in his early winter form now at his ideal trip.
