The European Tour makes a quick dash down the dark desert highway from Abu Dhabi to Dubai for the Dubai Desert Classic.
Our “stable” approach to this season’s golf continues to reap early dividends although we continue to minimise our returns picking Arnaus and Schwab from the stable last week leaving only Victor Perez on the bench and he duly finished second at a big price.
All 3 make the field here, as well as recent injury victim Robert MacIntyre. Favourite Tommy Fleetwood is a huge contender but we will stick to the stable discipline.
Some stunning play last week has to elevate Victor Perez to the ticket with the big hitting Frenchman continuing where he left off last season.
We’re happy to keep a watching brief on MacIntyre, leaving the second spot for last week’s disappointments Matthias Schwab and Adri Arnaus. Both played well at times, and although the Austrian looks the better player, this is home turf/sand for Arnaus who now lives in Dubai. Those home comforts swings the vote to the thunderous Spaniard.
Victor Perez, 0.5pts each way, 28/1 Paddy Power (1/5 top 8),
Adri Arnaus, 0.5pts each way, 90/1 Skybet, (1/5 top 7)
