NAP OF THE DAY: Espoir De Romay, (1345 Wincanton) 1pt win, 10/3:
A nice little race for midweek Wincanton. Trainer Kim Bailey has a good chance with Espoir De Romay. He won nicely at Warwick, and the second, West Cork, was a good winner in his next two races. After that Espoir was a close third at Newcastle the form of which is also working out really well. A mark of 132 partly reflects that although the handicapper has raised him in future to 134 because of the good collateral form. He can take this on route to better things.
Ring The Moon, (1335 Ffos Las), 7/2: Main Fact has won twice in the last week and will be very popular here. that said, and even allowing for the last win resulting in no penalty, he is only 4lbs well in on official numbers. Ring The Moon is equally well in after a fine second at Exeter last time. He’ll need a test of stamina, but Ffos Las is ideal for that. He can cause the upset.
Moving in Style, (1420 Wincanton), 7/2: was on an upward curve on his debut chasing season last year, and has looked in equally good form this season. His last two runner up efforts were pretty fair and his mark has remained unchanged. This looks a pretty good opportunity against a mostly moderate field and we expect jockey James Bowen to make this a pretty stiff test from some way out.
Hurricane Mitch, (1630 Wincanton, 11/4: very nicely bred gelding who ran with some promise when 5th on debut at Warwick. That was a good run with decent late progress once the penny dropped. That will stand him in good stead here, and trainer Harry Fry remains in good form.
