Premier League: Classy De Bruyne to shine…

The clash between Tottenham and Manchester City is the highlight of this Premier League Sunday schedule, with both teams desperate for the win for different reasons.

City are now 22 points behind leaders Liverpool in the race for the title. Their pursuit is looking hopeless, but they know the only chance they have is to win every game for the rest of the season.

Tottenham have eyes on the Champions League. A win here would put them only four points behind fourth placed Chelsea, and well within striking distance.

City will have been disappointed with how the midweek semifinal in the Carabao Cup turned out. Yes they are through to the final, but losing at home to their cross-city rivals will have stung. We expect a reaction against a team shorn if it’s main attacking talent.

We’re big fans of City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne (who isn’t: ed?), and we’ll take the 4/1 on offer that he wins the man of the match award.

The early game sees Arsenal traveling up north to take on Burnley, with both teams currently languishing in the bottom half of the table.

Burnley have suddenly burst in life, taking six points from tricky games against Leicester and Manchester United, and will provide the Gunners with all they can handle today.

This is exactly the sort of game Arsenal would have been bullied out of in the recent past, but new manager Mikel Arteta appears to have put some steel into his players.

We think this could be a physical affair, and with referee Chris Kavanagh in charge yellow cards are likely. With this in mind, usually the first person we look to is Granit Xhaka, but Ashley Westwood will also be in the middle of the battle and has already been booked eight times this season! He’s slightly a better price than Xhaka, so we’ll side with him seeing yellow.

Recommendations:

Tottenham/Manchester City: De Bruyne to win man of the match, 1 pt, at 4/1, BetFred

Burnley/Arsenal: Westwood to be booked, 1 pt, at 100/30, SkyBet
