The PGA Tour heads to sacred ground this week for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament.
This isn’t the most prestigious tournament, but with the European Tour out in Australia at an event we know little about, Pebble Beach is where our pennies will be staked.
None of our stable of golfers line up this week, unsurprisingly given having to cope with the likes of Bill Murray is one of the conditions of playing.
But we noted with interest the name of Dustin Johnson high up on the leaderboard last weekend in Saudi Arabia – he eventually finished second.
It has been a while since DJ last won at Pebble Beach, but he does have a good record there – he has six top ten finishes in his last eight starts at this event. Having shown he form in the wind while in the Middle East, we’re going to side with him to end an almost year long wait for a PGA title.
