Monday Yankee: Cross purpose…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Shaw’s Cross, (1515 Plumpton), 1pt win, 6/1:

A few interesting ones in here, but with the ground likely to be truly gruelling it is worth concentrating on those proven to handle the conditions.  Step forward Shaw’s Cross who sluiced home in similar ground at Lingfield recently and should enjoy this quagmire.

The Tin Miner, (1615 Plumpton), 7/2:  Has a couple of ways of running, but has been on best behaviour on his recent hurdles starts here.  Likely to make the running and on this big he will be hard to peg back.

Mountain Brave, (1705 Wolves), 7/2:  a couple of warm favourites here I the stepping up to 7f.  Both have a job though to pass likely pace setter Mountain Brave on her handicap debut for Mark Johnston.  Her maiden form reads pretty well given she was handed some tough tasks, and this drop in class can give her a winning chance.

Clap Your Hands, (1810 Wolves), 5/4:  trainer David Simcock is especially talented at bringing through young stayers.  He looks to be working his magic again with Clap Your Hands who sauntered to success last time.  He is well up in the weights and in distance but it will be a shock if he doesn’t still have buckets on hand.
