There are a couple of televised Premier League games to enjoy this Saturday, starting with Southampton hosting Burnley.
This game looked like being a relegation six pointer just a few weeks ago, but both sides have shown some form of late and have pulled away from the bottom three.
The reverse fixture saw Burnley win 3-0 earlier in the season, but we’re reluctant to dismiss Southampton quite so easily this time. It’s true most of their recent points have come away from home, but they did beat Spurs a few weeks ago at St. Mary’s.
The Saints have recently introduced Stuart Armstrong into their side, and he has scored two goals in his last three starts. We’ll take a punt that he nets again.
The late game sees runaway leaders Liverpool travel to take on Norwich.
Thanks to the winter break, and Jurgen Klopp playing his youngsters in the FA Cup replay, Liverpool return to Premier League action fresh and ready for the final push towards that elusive title.
They won 4-1 against today’s opponents at Anfield in the opening game of the season and will be looking forward to playing at one of their favourite away grounds. The Reds have won their last six games at Carrow Road, scoring 20 goals in the process.
Another away victory amid plenty of goals looks likely.
It’s difficult getting workable prices with the Liverpool strikers, so we will look elsewhere. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain seems to have forced his way into the side after a series of injuries. He scored last time out and is never afraid to shoot. We’ll take a punt he scores today.
Recommendations:
Southampton/Burnley: Armstrong to score, 1 pt, at 19/5, Unibet
Norwich/Liverpool: Oxlade-Chamberlain to score, 1 pt, at 11/4, BetFred
And 1 pt on the double at approximately 14/1
