The Champions League returns tonight, with defending champions Liverpool back in action against Atletico Madrid in Spain for the first leg.
This promises to be a tight match, with Diego Simone’s Atletico one of the best defensive units in Europe. Liverpool have started to look defensively strong as well, keeping clean sheets in 10 of their last 11 league games.
That said, we going to take a punt on Roberto Firmino scoring today. The Brazilian is an integral part of the Liverpool attacking machine, but is not having his best scoring season. He’s only scored eight in the league and none in Europe.
Still, he can step up on the big occasion. He scored a late winner in the semifinal of the World Club Championship and also netted the only goal in the final.
His poor return this season means his anytime price has drifted out to 3/1, and we’ll take a chance with that.
Recommendations: Firmino to score anytime, 1 pt, at 3/1, widely available
