Sunday starts with a game at Old Trafford as Manchester United host Watford.
United are a tricky team to predict, outstanding one week and then distinctly average the next. They did lose to this same Watford side in December, but the overall record suggests that was the exception.
United have won 16 of the last 18 clashes in all competitions, while Watford have lost their last eight visits to Old Trafford.
We have been impressed with new signing Bruno Fernandes and were on him to score from outside the penalty area last weekend when he hit the woodwork. We’ll try again.
The late game sees Arsenal host Everton at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners have had an up and down period under new manager Mikel Arteta, but ran out comfortable winners against Newcastle last time out. This makes them favourite for today’s game, in our book, because confidence will now be abundant.
Everton have improved under Carlo Ancelotti, and could even win a place in Europe for next season, but we think they will struggle in this game.
Mesut Ozil scores against Newcastle last weekend and played very well in the process. It looks like his place in the side is more assured and as his confidence grows so will his play. We’ll take him to net again.
Recommendations:
Manchester United/Watford: Fernandes to score from outside the penalty area, 1 pt, at 10/1, William Hill
Arsenal/Everton: Ozil to score anytime, 1 pt, at 13/2, William Hill
