A nice winning nap yesterday courtesy of Tintoretto (9/2 early, 3/1 SP), let’s see if we can’t get on a roll in time for next week…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: War Whisper, (1800 Newcastle), 1pt win, 11/4:

He was returning from a 4 month break when just failing to beat Tathmeen here recently. Gets a few pounds pull, but looks relatively unexposed as an all weather performer. Any step forward for that reappearance and he should have a big chance.

Mia Mento, (1830 Newcastle), 7/4: filly was imported from Ireland where she had been mostly running over longer trips. Looked like 6f could be the charm when making a reappearance from a 7 month break and a UK debut for her new trainer over this course and distance. May have been unlucky not to win there and can prove it tonight.

Spark Of War, (1900 Newcastle), 9/2: comes off a short break and for a new stable. The form of his last run here looks excellent – he was 4th, and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th have all won since. That though was 12f and this is just 8f. He was a running on fourth at this trip 3 runs ago, and a chance is taken against a soft looking favourite that his new stable will want to hit the ground running.

Don’t Be Surprised, (1930 Newcastle). 2/1: with different luck he could be on a hat-trick, but those last two runs have ended in second place. He probably should have won last time when not getting much luck, and a small 2lb rise gives him ample opportunity to make amends here,
