Defending Champions League champions Liverpool face a tricky task tonight to keep alive their hopes of another crown. They have to overturn a 1-0 deficit against Atletico Madrid, a superb defensive team.
The good news is that they are playing at Anfield, their famed stadium and scene of many a European comeback – including last year against Barcelona.
Usually we would be confident of Liverpool overturning such a deficit at home, but they haven’t been playing that well of late and they now face a tricky opponent. As a result we’ll leave the result alone.
Instead, we think the game will have an edge and so will look at a disciplinary angle. Jürgen Klopp raises the ante after the first leg when he claimed the Atletico players had tried to get Sadio Mane sent off. Whatever the truth, the referee has been warned and is likely to stamp down heavily on any sly tactics.
As a result we’re going to ale a chance on a red card being handed out tonight.
Recommendations: A sending off, 1 pt, at 4/1, bet365
