The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: McFabulous, (1405 Kempton), 2pts win, 5/2:
Looked a hit prospect for top honours after winning the Aintree bumper last year, but his early season hurdling efforts were below par. Was a bit better at Market Rasen but the vibes are that he has come in a ton since as he did in the Spring last year and his trainer has been ruing that he is so well in he couldn’t get into Cheltenham. Expect him to saunter home here.
On The Slopes, (1330 Kempton), 6/4: has been raised 7lbs for an easy win here last time and his previous 3rd behind Simply The Betts and Imperial Aura now looks fantastic. Would have had a live chance at Cheltenham but didn’t get in and can gain compensation here.
Downtown Getaway, (1440 Kempton), 7/2: has taken a while to come good, but his win here last time was impressive against a decent field. This looks poorer quality and he should be able to surge home here. Only up 5lbs for that and back over very suitable conditions.
Truckers Lodge (1535 Uttoxeter), 9/2: this test could be too much for De Rasher Counter, but his presence ensures a racing weight for Truckers Lodge. Paul Nicholls’ improving chaser ran 2nd in the Welsh National and has been given a good break since. Looks good off just 141 and is entitled to still be improving rapidly.
