The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Mary Frances, (1410 Thurles), 1pt win, 2/1:
A flying mare who was never better than when landing a Pertemps qualifier at Punchestown last time in impressive fashion. Has an obvious chance on that running.
Johnny Little Legs, (1440 Thurles), 10/3: had shown little until going down by a fraction in a big field here last time on his first completed handicap start. Only up 4lbs for that despite being well clear of the rest and should go close.
Kavanagh’s Corner, (1540 Thurles), 7/1: veteran has been in superb form this season including a cosy course win here last time. Closely weighted with rivals from that race but may have had a little in hand. Is a stone better off with Trumps Ace for a narrow Clonmel defeat and looks fair value.
Light Brigade, (1640 Thurles), 2/1: a deep looking bumper full of horses with promise, but that allows Light Brigade to go off a decent enough price. He was second on debut to a good one of Gordon’s, 12l ahead of the rest, and that form and experience should make him a very likely winner here.
