Tuesday Yankee: If you’re happy and you know it…

Another nap win yesterday with a photo going our way at Haydock giving the verdict to Moon King (11/4 early, 2/1 SP). We’re moving south to Chelmsford in search of the nap-trick….

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Clap Your Hands, (1915 Chelmsford), 1pt win, 7/2:

Won four quick races stepped up to this trip around the turn of the year.  Trainer Simcock is a dab hand at improving these stayers and this smooth travelling sort can progress again after a cosy win last time.  Has a similar type to beat in Land Of Oz for the Prescott yard, but may have the sharpness edge on that one at this trip.

Celsius, (1445 Haydock), 5/1:  was a winning machine last year before a flop on his final run.  Goes well fresh, has won here, and handles this ground.  His stable have registered a winner since the restart and he can add to that tally here.

Intisaab (1515 Haydock), 7/2:  we were on this veteran on his reappearance at Newmarket on Friday when pipped a short head.  Tries for compensation quickly with James Doyle keeping the ride.  Dangers abound with Call Me Ginger unexposed and blog favourite Aljady good when fresh, but Intisaab looked in great nick and he may just squeeze a win before the handicapper gets back in charge.

Gulf of Poets, (1545 Haydock), 16/1: a veteran who has won twice previously on seasonal debut and both previous runs at this track. Plenty of concerns around the market leaders here and this shapes up as a chance for him to spring a typical early season surprise.
