Kerching !! Marshal plan yields 16/1 return

It was a case of so near and yet so so far yesterday for our Daily Yankee.

It all started well when our opening leg, Colony Queen (11/2), stuck rigidly to our script with another in her sequence of narrow late wins at Beverley.

Same track same tactics a half hour later when second leg Zihaam (9/2 early, 3/1 SP) used his stamina to outstay his market rivals inside the last furlong.

All eyes then on nap of the day Marshal Dan (3/1), over at Chepstow. He is too well handicapped for these low level tracks and was able to win narrowly despite chasing a suicidal pace set by his market rival.

So near….and yet last leg favourite Limelighter’s second place had almost no hint of frustration, as although finishing 4l in front of third, as a well-in horse should do, he was still around 10l behind the runaway winner – which is akin to being lapped in the 800m.

Still, another winning nap for the month (after last Friday’s 40/1 stormer), and an approximate 16/1 return on total staked in the yankee, turning that into June profits also. It’s not been a bad week or so ….

Stay tuned.
