Wednesday Yankee: Brunch looks tasty….

More good racing profits yesterday with our Nap Marshal Dan (3/1) heading the list, and further wins for Colony Queen (11/2) and Zihaam (4/1) making for a very handsome return on our Yankee. Let’s see if we can maintain the momentum…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Brunch, (1540 Haydock), 1pt win, 3/1:

A lightly raced and potentially useful 3yo who won on reappearance at Newcastle.  That form has been boosted since, and this scopy sort looks likely to improve a lot as the season progresses.  Main rival Canagat is a lovely horse, but a free-going style may leave him vulnerable to a strong closer like Brunch.

Pavers Pride, (1350 Hamilton), 2/1:  switches to the stable of Paul Midgeley who does so well with newly acquired sprinters.  Ran a blinder on stable debut at Beverley last week from a poor draw and looks to have a big chance here.  Tries a first time visor and it’s worth noting he won off this mark when trying blinkers for the first time.

Midnight’s Legacy, (1750 Haydock), 2/1:   another progressive 3yo and with loads of potential is stepping up again in trip.  Did really well to overhaul two useful types here recently and the stable is flying after three Royal Ascot winners from five runners.

Balgees Time, (1925 Windsor), 7/2:  ex-French filly who made a strong debut for her new in-form stable when running a multiple winner to a photo finish at Goodwood.  Only 2lb higher here, and likely to be better suited by this extra distance.  Has the flying Tom Marquand in the saddle.
