Friday Yankee: Donny be good…

The Daily Yankee:

NAP OF THE DAY: Harrovian, (1555 Doncaster), 1pt win 5/2:

At his best when it’s riding like the surface of the M1, and he can put the trip up that road from Newmarket to good use here. Given there was some cut at Haydock on reappearance he did really well to be a fair second. He was a tidy winner off 91 the last time he saw quick ground and he can take this under Framkie at the expense of the interesting Elector.

Abel Handy, (1215 Doncaster), 7/2: the ground is getting rapid under the Summer sun, and this is sure to be run fast with pace-setter National Anthem a tough target to pass. Abel Handy has some back class and has moved to a stable that has hit its traditional peak Summer form. Ran a fine second last time over 6f but is arguably better at this trip and he can land the day’s opener.

Harome, (1245 Doncaster), 7/2: and repeat. Harome is another front running fast ground loving 5f sprinter. If conditions favour National Anthem in the opener then they are likely to be ideal for this fella. His stable is in decent form, and there don’t appear to be too many challenges for the early pace and he may be able to dominate.

Dubious Affair, (1705 Doncaster), 9/4: produced a lifetime best when stepped up to this trip on seasonal reappearance at Yarmouth on quick ground. That was a tidy win, and a 5lb rise looks well within her scope. This looks a pretty poor race, and her recent form is a rare commodity indeed – should follow up.
