The Premier League restart continues, with another game Sunday in the form of Watford versus Southampton.
We managed to land a bet on Saturday that was based on a quiet first half, and we’re going down that path again.
The hosts are right got in the relegation battle and are in desperate need for the three points. However, the Hornets have really struggled for goals since the restart, with their only effort coming in injury time against Leicester two games ago. Their game plan seems to centre around keeping a tight defence and hoping!
Southampton’s weird season has continued after the break – excellent away from home in stuffing Norwich 3-0 and then very poor at St. Mary’s a few days later, practically handing a disappointing Arsenal side the three points on a plate.
The Saints are safe this season, lying 10 points clear of the relegation zone, and can afford to play with a degree of confidence.
With think this will be a tight affair in the first half, but Watford will have to open up in the second if they are to win the game. This will give the visitors the chance to break in them, as they did to Norwich to spectacular effect.
We’ll take Southampton to win the game in the second half, after a draw at halftime.
