Tuesday Yankee: Worth a flutter…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Wentworth Falls, (1400 Doncaster), 1pt win, 9/2

Hard to win with, this fella has lost 20 in a row despite being placed many times.  That said he runs this course well and his second last week to National Anthem has already been franked by that winner’s subsequent victory.  He can finally come good having eventually dropped to a winning mark.

Colour Contrast, (1315 Musselburgh), 18/1: speaking of hard to win with, this fella was 2nd five times in a row in 2018.  Won his first two races last year for this yard, both over this course and distance.  Plenty of tough opponents here on seasonal debut, but catching this fella fresh could be critical, and on those going days, he can look pretty useful off this kind of rating, and is worth a punt at a huge price.

Desert Ace, (1445 Musselburgh), 3/1:  has winning form at this track and ran a good looking race in a decent contest at Thirsk recently.  Has a decent draw, with his main rivals unsuitably wider in the stalls and can add to his course tally.

Verify, (1630 Doncaster), 5/2:  ran an excellent second on return at Goodwood recently.  This isn’t the strongest of races, and although another one prone to placing rather than winning, the addition of the tactically brilliant Oisin Murphy should give this gelding as strong a winning chance as he could get.

    • Hi Tony, revolver is owned by some friends of ours and I know they expect to win a few more before the handicapper catches up. He’s too short for us today, but expected to win,

      Good luck
