There are more Premier League games to whet the betting appetite Sunday, starting off with Newcastle hosting West Ham at St. James Park.
The Magpies have had a good restart to the season, with only a late equaliser by Aston Villa preventing them from winning all of their three games. They come off a thumping 4-1 victory at Bournemouth, and will be brimful of confidence.
West Ham also won last time out, against Chelsea no less, but they have been far more inconsistent. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 12 league games, and we will thus side with the hosts.
Next up is Liverpool hosting Aston Villa at Anfield. Manager Jurgen Klopp was visibly annoyed after the new champion’s heavy defeat at Manchester City midweek, and a reaction is likely.
Liverpool have scored 13 goals against today’s opponents at Anfield in their last four clashes, conceding just 3, and another big win looks likely.
The late game sees Southampton host Manchester City.
City are flying. They put four past Liverpool on Thursday and will be keen to keep their foot on the pedal with the Champions League and the FA Cup semifinal not far ahead.
Southampton did well against Watford last time out, but City are a different beast. The Saints have lost their last six league games against today’s opponents, with an aggregate score of 17-4 goals against. We expect this run to continue.
