Sunday Yankee: It should be Grand…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Grandee, (1425 Hamilton), 1pt win, 7/2:

Useful handicapper is used to running in higher class races and the form of his recent Thirsk effort has had a few boosts already.  Despite that he has been edged down a pound and helps him slip in here against weaker horses.  May be too good for this modest group.

Roundabout Magic, (1200 Lingfield), 7/2:  course and distance specialist, but not the easiest to win with and needs a nuanced ride to be produced late and fast.  Few finer exponents of that right now than Tom Marquand and he can deliver the coup de grace.

Quanah, (1245 Hamilton), 2/1:  has started this season in fine form and posted a course and distance win recently.  This course doesn’t suit all horses so having proven form here is a major plus.  Still looks on a winning mark just 3lbs higher.

Lord Rapscallion, (1715 Cork), 13/2:  goes well for his inexperienced rider, following a very unlucky Leopardstown third with a clear win last time.  Hasn’t gone too far up the weights and the stable remains in red hot form.
