The early game Tuesday sees Watford host Manchester City just a day after parting company with manager Nigel Pearson.
It’s difficult to find anything positive to say about Watford tonight – they are leaderless, were very disappointing last time out and now face a side that have scored 14 without reply in their last two games against them.
City were below their best against Arsenal on the weekend, and Pep Guardiola will not appreciate losing a semifinal. Expect a motivated City side, particularly as players will want to take part against Real Madrid in the Champions League, and a comfortable away win.
We think City will win with ease, and will take a punt that they turn over a three goal handicap. Similarly, given our expectation of a healthy City win, we think the man of the match award is likely to be awarded to one of their attacking talents. Step forward Kevin de Bruyne, the best midfielder in the league.
The late game sees Aston Villa hosting Arsenal at Villa Park, desperately needing three points to stand a chance of avoiding relegation.
However, Villa have lost six consecutive Premier League games against today’s opponents, by an aggregate score of 19-3.
We think Arsenal will win the game, but we’re not sure which side Mikel Arteta will play after their semifinal win on the weekend. Consequently we’re going to leave this match along.
Recommendations:
Manchester City to overturn 3 goal handicap, 1 pt, at 11/2, BetVictor
Kevin de Bruyne to be man of the match, 1 pt, at 4/1, William Hill
