The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Kings Royal Hussar, (2015 Sandown), 1pt win, 9/2:
He has looked consistent since stepping up to staying trips, but consistently frustratingly he is still a maiden. May have run his best race yet when third in a big field at Newbury last time. This looks a fraction easier and Holly Doyle looks just the right booking to coax out that long overdue win.
Shaffire, (1735 Sandown), 7/1: our good friend Harry Whittington has few runners on the flat but this filly has been going well for him and seems to go kindly for today’s pilot Holly Doyle. Needs to be covered up for a late run, and should get the race run to suit here and looks a fair price.
Enemy, (1840 Sandown), 6/4 : was thought enough of to be pitched into Royal Ascot’s Britannia Stakes on just his third start when a very creditable fourth. Bred to be much more at home over this 10f trip and should end up well ahead of this mark of 89 and can start that route with a convincing win here.
Setarhe, (1915 Sandown), 4/1 : ran an odd race when we strongly fancied her for a 6f group 3 at Ascot, looking a bit slow early doors before staying on dourly for a distant second. That is still probably the best form here, but the step up to 7f and the better surface could see her improve, making her very hard to beat.
