NAP OF THE DAY: Stellaire Enfant, (1430 Leopardstown), 1pt win, 4/1:
Was a big surprise winner at Limerick last week, but she was the winner the whole way there travelling sweetly for her stylish young apprentice before quickening well to win. She’s nicely drawn here and it would be no surprise if the mare repeats the win given the form she looks to be in.
Amelia Jane, (1400 Leopardstown), 11/1: this filly has run well since reverting to turf and was not far behind today’s favourite Shona Mae in a hot form race at Limerick two runs ago. Has a small pull in the weights but will hopefully get a bit more luck in running here as she is drawn to tuck in behind the pace-setting old rival
Gypsy Whisper, (1755 Sandown), 5/2: ran a cracker at Newbury last time when coming from last to look like making a real challenge before fading late for 4th. That was a decent event and jockey Buick will have learned plenty about how to ride this filly and can put that education to good effect tonight.
Rock Of Fame, (2000 Sandown), 5/2: has had two close handicap defeats and may be destined to always find one too well in. There’s a danger here with the lightly raced Tao Te Ching. But it’s probably worth giving Rock Of Fame one more chance to win. She was clear of the third when pipped in reappearance and that third has won three since. She was pipped again last time too, and maybe it’s a case of third time lucky.
