FA Cup Final: Pulling for Pulisic…

The traditional end to the English football season takes place this evening, with Arsenal taking on Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

This game pits two young managers in their first seasons with clubs they used to play for, in Mikel Arteta at Arsenal and Frank Lampard at Chelsea.

The coronavirus may mean that the game takes place at a deserted stadium, but that doesn’t mean that the two sides won’t be keen to win the silverware today, far from it. We think there will be plenty of feeling in the clash.

Arsenal were very impressive in beating Manchester City in the semifinal. They defended very narrowly, allowing City the wings but tried to stop their talented players from playing through the middle. This worked well as City had no height up top.

However, Chelsea have a powerful striker in Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman is very good in the air and will be keen to put one over his old team. We’ll take him to score a header today.

We’re unsure how this game will go, but as a whole have been more impressed with Chelsea throughout the season. They have played Arsenal twice in the league this season, drawing at home and winning at the Emirates, and also triumphed in last season’s Europa League final.

We’ll side with the Blues, and look for rising star Christian Pulisic to claim the man of the match award.

Recommendations:

Giroud to score a header, 1 pt, at 15/2, SkyBet

Pulisic to win man of the match, 1 pt, at 6/1, bet365
