Sunday Yankee: The name is Bond…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Intrinsic Bond, (1430 Thirsk), 1pt win, 3/1:

Much as we like to pick Presidential, this looks booked for one of the few 3yos in the race in the progressive Intrinsic Bond.  He overcame some trouble to win last time and could have more to come against a field of mostly exposed older rivals.

Well Done Fox, (1415 Salisbury), 5/1: only recently stepped down in class to try handicaps and has run ok without much luck. Ran well at Goodwood last time, and a 4lb drop in the weights looks overly generous. Has course winning form and although this is an interesting little race, he could be well in if able to build on that last effort.

Lady Nectar (1505 Thirsk), 13/2:  a huge field of sprinters here, but none are as unexposed or improving as fast as this 3yo filly.  Having looked very unlucky two runs ago she made amends in easy fashion at Catterick last time, the form of which is working out well.  Only up 7lbs for that and could be well ahead of the game.

Millisle, (1540 Curragh), 6/4:  started this season in the 1000 Guineas but sprinting always looked likely to be her future.  Didn’t quite have the spark until a much better effort last time.  That smooth win suggests she is near her best, and with all the weight allowances in her favour she should be up to landing this prize.
