The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Queen Power, (1420 Salisbury), 1pt win, 6/4:
A useful listed race for fillies in which Sir Michael Stoute’s filly is rated a clear 6lbs ahead of any of her rivals. That is enough leeway to overcome any troubles in running, and having been pitched into top class company of Group 2 and Group 1 all season, she should romp home dropped into this grade. Here’s hoping she’ll bring a moment of respite for her trainer’s sad bereavement.
Tuscan Oasis, (1550 Salisbury), 2/1: lightly raced filly who built on her opening two runs with a fluent handicap debut win at Leicester recently. That was decent form and a 6lb rise is well warranted, that said, she should still be improving rapidly in which case she should make light work of the rise.
Accomplice, (1620 Salisbury), 13/2: has been in superb form on the all weather recently in which context a recent 4th at Bath was a little underwhelming when given a shot on turf. That said, not much went right then. Worth another shot and looks a good price for a mare in great form under top jockey Tom Marquand.
Alpine Mistral, (1655 Salisbury), 3/1: bang in form mare who has been lumped up the weights after a wide margin Yarmouth win last time. That may look prohibitive but the runner up has been an easy winner since and this red hot mare may be able to defy the hold and get the better of another recent winner in Willy Nilly.
