Tuesday Yankee: Feeling Lucky…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Lucky Lucky Man, (1745 Hamilton), 1pt win, 7/1:

Starting to look very well handicapped and although well beaten at Pontefract last time he travelled well and his time may be imminent.  Has won both handicap runs on heavy ground by a wide margin, and this surface may just fire up a return to near his best in which case he is superbly well in.

Mustaqbal, (1500 Ripon), 4/1:  a few to like in this fair race including old favourite Kermouster fresh off a win op.  But veteran Mustaqbal is looking extremely well handicapped after a poor 2019.  Last time at Ayr he really signalled an imminent return to form when a closing 4th after a troubled run.  Now gets his beloved soft ground and could be very dangerous.

Abel Handy, (1600 Ripon), 11/2:  has been consistent without winning this season.  Ran his best race when a close 4th in valuable handicap here last time and is nicely drawn here should jockey Tudhope head, as he should, for the far rail and look to make all over there.

Lion’s Vigil, (1635 Ripon), 2/1:  the least exposed runner here and making a big step up in trip.  Gets a massive weight allowance as a 3yo, but looked to be improving fast when only just failing to get up here over 12f last time.  Should enjoy this extra distance and may be just too lowly weighted and too progressive for these opponents.
