The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Many A Star, (1540 York), 2pts win, 8/1:
He was a game winner on reappearance at Doncaster and never looked at home around the turns of Pontefract last time until running on well at the death. A huge rangy horse, he’ll be much more at home on a straight track line this, and is confidently expected to improve further.
Mr Chua, (1510 York), 9/2: was a gutsy winner when we picked him at Lingfield on Wednesday. Looks better the further he goes, loves to run near it on the pace, and could prove very hard to pass at a course that suits pressing tactics.
Donnelly’s Rainbow, (1700 Musselburgh), 9/1: a blog regular who is always worth backing at this his favourite track. Must have it quick and rain scuppered his chances last time. Provided conditions stay good here, he must have a good chance over a trip he gets and from a handy inside draw. Will be ridden for a late finish and hopefully there will be tons of pace to set it up.
The Defiant, (1455 Musselburgh), 4/1: has lightning early speed and the challenge for jockey Mulrennan will be to save enough to get home. Will need to be quick early to gran the rail off fellow blazer Indian Pursuit, but if he gets ahead and his jockey gets his fractions right then he is due a win off this mark.
