The Daily Yankee:
NAP OF THE DAY: Many A Star, (1720 Yarmouth), 1pt win, 6/4:
Already a favourite of ours who almost repaid our faith in him at Doncaster last week when narrowly beaten. We knew the straight course on decent ground would unlock improvement and he can confirm that here under similar conditions off the same mark. Banker.
Cote D’Azur, (1535 Beverley), 5/1: starting to look very well handicapped if able to tap into his peak form. It is encouraging that his best run this year cane when a close second over this course and distance, and he can cash in on his declining handicap mark in an open race.
North Wind, (1635 Beverley), 9/2: has been in good form since imported from Ireland. Two good runner up efforts at Doncaster included an excellent effort last time. Surely knocking on the door for a win, and the kind draw here may be the extra edge he needs to get over the line.
Grouseman, (1705 Beverley), 7/1: this is a pretty awful race, but the conditions of entry greatly favour a few 3yos. Of those, Grouseman makes most appeal. He was shocking on the all weather last time, but his close 4th here the time before is much the best effort in this field. A return to those conditions can bring about a return to that form, and that looks likely to be enough.
