Thursday Yankee: Let it be So…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: So Beloved, (1630 Ayr), 1pt win, 7/1:

Irish import Gloves Lynch looks a potentially huge gamble for a yard that loves a tilt at the bookies.  That said he has something to prove.  That can’t be said of hairy old veteran So Beloved, but he still shows some dash at the age of 10, and some leniency from the raters means he gets to drop into class 4 for the first time in a long career.  He may just be able to outclass these especially if they go fast and his good young apprentice is well worth his claim.

Danielsflyer, (1600 Ayr), 7/1:  old blog pet Presidential is a likely favourite heee after a return to form at Leicester, but he doesn’t have much room off this rating so we just prefer Danielsflyer.  He has strong back form and has looked good in two recent places efforts.  His third at Haydock last time looks a good effort and he should again edge out Hajjam who was behind him there.

Be Proud, (1700 Ayr), 5/1:  keeps running with credit but something of an expert in finding trouble and finishing a gallant close 4th.  Has run well here but four course efforts have been one at a mile and three at 6f.  Both lifetime wins have been at 5f so interesting now at this track at this distance.  Will need them to go fast but should be staying in better than most as long as he can finally avoid trouble.

Cormier, (1735 Ayr), 5/2:  some very well in recent winners here including Ben Lilly, but none have as much in hand as Cormier.  He gets in here off an effective mark of 63, 7lbs less than his future rating earned for a runaway recent Catterick win.  Wouldn’t want the ground to dry out too much, but should still have plenty in hand.
