Premier League: Expect fireworks at Stamford Bridge…

There are four Premier League games to enjoy Sunday, starting with Southampton hosting Tottenham.

Both sides had a disappointing start to the season, losing to Crystal Palace and Everton respectively. We thought Spurs were poor last week but the whole group will have been given a shot in the arm by the arrival of former favourite Gareth Bale from Real Madrid. We think this will be enough to give Spurs the edge, and take Harry Kane to open the scoring.

Next up is Newcastle taking on Brighton at St. James’ Park. Callum Wilson did us a favour by opening the scoring last weekend, and we think he is exactly the type of striker the Magpies need, a natural goalscorer. We’ll take him to start the ball rolling again.

The big game of the day sees Chelsea host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge. Both teams got off to a win last week, but both looked shaky defensively. We think this points to a game of goals, but we’re not sure who comes out on top. Instead we’re going to take star strikers Timo Werner and Mohamed Salah to have over one shot each on target.

Finally Leicester take on Burnley, hoping to continue their impressive start to the season. The Foxes should win this game, but we think their odds are quite cramped. We’ve noted that Chris Wood has scored three times against Leicester in four starts, and will take a punt on the 12/1 on offer that he scores a header.

Recommendations:

Southampton/Tottenham: Kane to score first, 1 pt, at 9/2, William Hill

Newcastle/Brighton: Wilson to score first, 1 pt, at 11/2, Paddy Power

Chelsea/Liverpool: Werner and Salah to each have over one shot on target, 1 pt, at 4/1, William Hill

Leicester/Burnley: Wood to score a header, 1 pt, at 12/1, SkyBet
