Premier League: Give it a whack, Jack…

The early game tonight sees Aston Villa host Sheffield United at Villa Park.

Our initial assessment of this match was largely based on the tedious goalless draw these two teams played out just after the restart last season. However, looking at the odds we spotted a SkyBet enhanced 20/1 for Jack Grealish to score from outside the penalty area.

The Villa captain has just signed a new five-year deal and become an England international. He must be high with confidence, and to cap it all scored a 20-yard stunner against Burton in the League Cup last week. We’ll take a chance on him.

The late game sees Wolves hosting Manchester City, looking to build on their impressive 2-0 victory over Sheffield United on the opening day.

City could be rusty as this is their first match of the season, and they are missing important striker Sergio Aguero. Additionally, they have won only one of their five meetings with Wolves.

It’s tricky to bet against City, and we won’t, but we were impressed with the play of Wolves forward Daniel Podence in their opening win. We’ll take a punt that he assists in scoring a goal tonight.

Recommendations:

Aston Villa/Sheffield United: Grealish to score from outside the penalty area, 1 pt, at 20/1, SkyBet

Wolves/Manchester City: Podence to assist a goal, 1 pt, at 5/1, Paddy Power
