Thursday Yankee: Lez get it on…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Lezardrieux, (1620 Pontefract), 3/1:  we were on this fella in expectation of a return to form when he ran a cracker at a huge price at Ayr three runs ago.  He has since gone close at Catterick and then scooted up here over 6f last time.  He made all there and was clear at this distance.  He looks to have plenty in hand and can repeat the tactics here.

Quickstep Lady, (1425 Newmarket), 11/2:  an interesting fillies sori to in which Andrew Balding’s lightly raced 3yo is by far the least exposed making her handicap debut off a mark of 80.  That could be pretty generous on the best of her maiden form and it is an interesting move to step her down to 6f.  There’s plenty of pace in the race and the stiff finish could be ideal if she can stay in touch through the mid race.

Lady Nectar, (1525 Pontefract), 4/1:  this in form filly has been flying this summer.  After two impressive wins it may have been soft ground that bogged her down enough to only come third at Catterick.  She’ll need to still be on the up as she is 5lbs higher again, but jack in a better surface she should revert to her progressive ways and prove very hard to beat.

Total Commitment, (1900 Kempton), 9/1:  loves this course and distance winning his last three races here.  Was consistent afterwards at other all weather tracks, and has been running ok on turf.  But now he is back to his true home and looks good value to pick up the winning thread.
