It’s NFL Sunday again, and we’ve lined up a first touchdown Yankee to hopefully win some cash.
We’ve decided to side with teams that are favoured to win by around a touchdown, and thus likely to score first, and then looked at their most likely short distance running threat.
With this in mind, let’s start with the Cleveland Browns taking on Washington. The Browns are 7 points favourites and in Nick Chubb they have a powerful runner who is bang in form, having run for 124 yards in scoring two TDs last week.
Next up are the New England Patriots taking on the Las Vegas Raiders. It’s a new era in New England with legendary quarterback Tim Brady having moved on, to be replaced by Cam Newton. This has resulted in a new threat as Newton is a lot more dangerous rushing than his predecessor. He has already scored four rushing TDs in the opening two games thus season.
Turning to the Indianapolis Colts against the New York Jets, the Colts are heavily favoured by 11.5 points to win this game. In his last game at home, the Colts running back Jonathan Taylor ran for 101 yards on 26 carries, scoring one TD.
Finally we have Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking on Denver Broncos. The Buccs are favoured to win by six points, and in their last game against the Broncos Leonard Fournette ran for 225 yards on 28 carries. He is a powerful runner who could be used to punch the ball home in short yardage situations.
First TD Scorer Yankee (prices: Skybet):
Nick Chubb, (Browns v Washington), 9/2
Cam Newton, (Patriots v Raiders), 9/1
Jonathan Taylor, (Colts v Jets), 5/1
