Sunday Yankee: Don’t you, forget about Breakfast Club….

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Breakfast Club, (1440 Curragh),  1pt win, 7/2:

Won on debut for Richard Hannon in England but it was the transfer to the shrewd Irish yard of Denis Hogan after just three runs that saw an uplift in form, with a smooth win at Cork.  He is up 10lbs for that, but that was the least he deserved and his trainer has already proven a dab hand at improving these types into top level sprinters.

Penwortham, (1535 Chester), 13/2:  one of today’s rogues’ gallery candidates as he needs things to fall just right.  That usually means being held up off a fast pace at Chester, conditions he should get today.  Always needs luck to weave his way through on this tight track, but loves the challenge and the likely shape of this race looks ideal.

Donnelly’s Rainbow, (1630 Musselburgh), 3/1:  pretty much a squatter on the Daily Yankee list.  We gave him a spin again last time at Ayr and he ran a blinder to be a strong finishing second to a very well-in winner, miles clear of the rest.  He likes Ayr, but he loves Musselburgh and can defy top weight with his usual last time first tactics.

Edinburgh Castle, (1645 Chester), 11/4:  hasn’t quite put it all together despite looking promising in numerous races this season.  Probably came closest to delivering on his one run here.  This longer trip might be ideal around these turns and he can land the win he has threatened all season.
