The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Arnold, (1845 Newcastle), 1pt win, 2/1: something of an expert in unlucky defeats although his last effort here seemed more a function of a less than memorable ride. Tom Eaves takes over in the saddle, and t hi 5f trip is, if anything, more suitable. This race looks at his mercy, although with Arnold he usually finds a bizarre way to throw it!!
Princess Power, (1430 Bath), 13/2: Apart from a blowout at quirky Beverley, has been knocking on the door of late. Ran a cracker here last time when splitting the useful Motagally and Chil Chil. Nothing of that class in this race and has a great chance to get a well deserved win.
Knockabout Queen, (1650 Bath), 10/1: a bit of a risky one as she has developed the habit of king abut slow from the stalls which is far from ideal in a 5f dash. That said here best recent run was a third here, and on her best form of last year she is extremely well handicapped. There is lots of blistering pace here and if she can get away then her thrust from off the pace could be just the right tactic.
Zebulon, (2015 Newcastle ), 11/4: not many in this event have shown much form. We are napping Arnold, so it makes sense to back that up with Zebulon who beat that horse fair and square here last time with the two of them clear of the rest. That’s either good form or it isn’t, but we’re prepared to back it, especially with the quality of opposition so poor.
