NAP OF THE DAY: Mr Chua, (1640 Nottingham), 1pt win, 9/4:
He has been in excellent form of late winning twice before running into a very well handicapped winner at York. Was a long way ahead of the rest there and is just one pound higher for this weaker looking event. Should regain the winning thread.
Bimble, (1455 Nottingham), 2/1: very lightly raced filly who could have a lot in hand off this mark. Won her Goodwood maiden very easily, but her handicap debut last time was even more impressive even in defeat when travelling well throughout a decent race at Salisbury. The ground was soft there but she travels like a horse who will be at her best on a sound surface and she’s gets that here.
Island Nation, (1930 Kempton), 7/4: two penalised recent winners dominate this market. Stittenham Wood is 3lbs well in based on his wide margin Newcastle win. That was a very poor race and he didn’t always looks good. In contrast Island Nation has the course form as he won here, in smooth easy fashion, and the form looks stronger. He looks sure to go in again.
Master Milliner, (2030 Kempton), 11/2: Has course form having finished a good second here on handicap debut. Still relatively lightly raced and after two fair efforts this season showed improved form to forge over 4l clear in victory at Bath last time. Hasn’t been badly treated for that easy win and looks to have the scope to improve again, not that he has to for this event as a mere repeat of that Bath effort should suffice.
